Green New Deal UK is committed to providing a safe environment for all. We encourage everyone to become involved in our Local Hubs.
However, we need to ensure that all Local Hub members, including young people and vulnerable adults, feel safe and are able to contribute their best.
This resource introduces Local Hub organisers and volunteers to the basic principles of safeguarding, ensuring clear systems and responsibilities for safeguarding. It provides a framework to follow should you encounter a situation where someone needs help or you suspect they might need help.
It also reminds Hub members of the basic behaviours they need to stick to, to ensure that you and everyone you’re working with feel and are kept safe in Green New Deal UK spaces. It is intended to be used in combination with the 'Safeguarding reporting flowchart' resource.
